You're wonderfully placed for the outdoors, with Blue Lake (Tikitapu) about 5 minutes away and the Redwoods Whakarewarewa Forest around 10, while central Rotorua and its restaurants, shops and geothermal attractions are a 13 to 15 minute drive.
Getting Around:
A car is recommended out here, as public transport is limited, and there's an internal-access garage plus free street parking. By car, Blue Lake is about 5 minutes away, the Redwoods around 10, Te Puia and the city centre 13 to 15, and Polynesian Spa and Rotorua Airport about 15. Skyline, Zorb and Rotorua Canopy Tours are all roughly 22 to 23 minutes.
